RG for me.....

Although I am biased as an owner of one of these great watches, the RG PLM is the zenith for me. In Rose Gold with the enamel dial (a must in my opinion) the watch evokes memories and the feel of the great Lange pocket watches of the past, which I think w

You piqued my curiosity.

Would you mind sharing what the other 4 are? My top 5 are (in no particular order) the 1815 rattrapante (in honey gold), the zeitwerk, the PLM tourbillon, the Richard Lange minute repeater, and the 1815 chrono (controversial, but I like it more than the d

I’ve found it very interesting discovering what they do,

but I have mixed feelings. I don’t really like the lateral PR indicator and even if the movement is very nicely designed and finished, its German style speaks to me less than the traditional Swiss style. That said, I love their needle seconds hand and the

I've been paying attention to them since I first saw an interview on Swiss Watch Gang YouTube channel.

Of the various editions, the Hong Kong edition is my favorite due to it's more uniform dial appearance, but my true favorite here is the JK Meisterwerk. It has something about it reminiscent to me of the PLM Richard Lange . Thank you very much Emmanuel fo

I’ve been looking at DeLugs recently.

I’ve never ordered from them before, but am going to buy a few straps for my Lange PLM now. Everything I’ve bought in the past decade or more has been Jean Rousseau, as it’s easy given there’s a store in NYC. And in many cases I went fully custom.

Yes, that common string that binds the three.

Tourbillions in Lange, even at today’s somewhat depressed prices, were never interesting. Unless it was the original PLM. But the trio of Dato, ZW and PLM. That’s a line up to compare to anything anyone else can offer. And each one, even the ZW, as you sa

I understand that.

It’s kinda how I’ve been with the Zeitwerk. Although the new ZW’s case is a definite improvement in terms it being less chunky and potentially more wearable for me. Even this PLM is boarder line for me on lug to lug size. It’s not quite right and starting

Today, with my “Dark Lord”.

If my Urwerk 105-CT is my “Dark Knight” then I think this Richard Lange Pour le Mérite is my “Dark Lord”. More elegant, classic and understated (aside from the case which really should be smaller). I do still go back and forth on whether if there was only

Fusee-and-chain: nine examples

The fusee-and-chain transmission is a way of providing a constant even force to the escapement as the mainspring unwinds itself throughout its range of power reserve. The fusee (from the French fusée , wire wound around a spindle) is a cone-shaped pulley

Lange 1 Onyx Dial Sets - Observation (and Question)

This is interesting (but maybe only to me -- we'll see). When Lange relaunched in 1994, they began numbering casebacks starting with 110001 and movements starting with 1. So we typically saw a difference of about 110000 between the caseback number and the
